We’re excited to announce the release of our newest update to Genie. Thanks to continual model improvements and direct feedback from our users, Genie’s performance has taken another leap forward, particularly when it comes to solving harder, more complex programming tasks.
A 7% increase in performance
With this release, Genie 2.1 now achieves a score of $107,750 on the SWE Lancer Diamond Eval - up from $88,000 in the previous version. That’s a 8% increase in performance!
Genie’s pass rate now stands at 53%. The latest evaluation includes harder and more nuanced challenges, and Genie is now solving more difficult tasks than ever before. This shows stronger depth in reasoning, abstraction, and real-world applicability.
Key takeaway: Genie 2.1 performs better on harder tasks, solidifying its place as the top model on the SWE Lancer benchmark.
Swelancer Issues | 237 | |
Passed | 126 | ~53% |
Ungraded (Swelancer failure) | 8 | ~3% |

But this update isn’t all about the numbers…
Multi-modal integration with Slack
Previously, Genie’s Slack integration enabled you to hand off tasks, generate documentation, and even debug errors directly from your conversations. Now, with our latest feature update, you can upload images and files as part of your task context, without ever leaving Slack.
Troubleshoot with screenshots, implement designs from mockups, and solve problems in real-time.
No more switching tabs. No manual uploads. Just tag Genie, attach what you need, and hand off tasks in two clicks.
Remove the extra steps. Simplify the process. Speed up your workflow.
