Export Local Projects to GitHub and Build with Templates
Export Local Projects to GitHub and Build with Templates cover image

A few highly requested upgrades just landed in Cosine. This week's changelog tightens the loop between local‑first development in Cosine and the tools you already use, while making it faster to start, share, and ship new projects.

GitHub publishing for local projects

You can now publish and export projects created in Cosine directly to GitHub. Share work, back up your code, and collaborate with your team using industry‑standard workflows, without changing how you build in Cosine. Published projects remain fully editable and runnable on the platform, allowing you to continue iterating with Cosine and your teammates.

We know many teams rely on GitHub for version control and collaboration. By allowing you to publish Cosine projects directly, we’re reducing friction between starting locally and managing code within your broader workflows.

Branch merging for local projects

For projects started in Cosine, you can merge task branches into your default branch. This enables iterative development and experimentation without losing progress, making it easier to test ideas and integrate them into your main codebase when they’re ready.

Branch merging provides you more flexibility: prototype on a task branch, then confidently bring your changes into the main project when ready. Together with GitHub publishing, these improvements make local‑first projects in Cosine more powerful and better integrated with your development process.

Templates and Inspirations to kickstart new projects

Users can get started with our new, powerful custom templates. Spin up a NextJS Starter pack or begin a mobile project with Expo. When starting a "New Project", select your template and press "Create Project". Deploy and preview static websites directly on the platform with our Instant Sites feature.

Need some inspiration? We've also included curated templates that act as functioning websites, apps, or games. These combine specific prompts and templates to generate entire projects instantly. Explore them to kickstart your own product or to learn new patterns fast.
