Keeping docs accurate has always been a developer pain point. AutoDoc fixed that by generating and continuously updating clean, structured documentation alongside your code. Today, we’re taking the next step. AutoDoc 2.0 is a faster, more collaborative, and more flexible way to keep every team and project on the same page.
What’s new?
Great teams don’t just write code; they share context. AutoDoc 2.0 brings project-level clarity and team-level onboarding into a single, integrated surface. Whether you’re spinning up a new service, welcoming a new engineer, or aligning a cross-functional group, AutoDoc 2.0 makes everything clear from the onset.
1) Project Docs vs. Team Docs
AutoDoc now gives you two focused spaces for documentation:
Project Docs – Purpose-built for codebases and services. AutoDoc keeps these current as your code evolves (architecture overviews, module deep-dives, API references, and more).
Team Docs – A space for knowledge across all your team’s projects and more: onboarding, operating principles, rituals, runbooks, definitions of done.
Use both together for the complete picture. Code you can trust, and context you can act on.

2) Edit docs manually, solo or together
AutoDoc still writes the first draft for you, but now you can edit any doc directly, on your own or collaboratively with teammates. Tighten copy, add examples, detail internal knowledge, all without leaving Cosine. Your edits sit alongside AutoDoc’s updates, so the doc stays living.
3) Sleek formatting commands
We’ve added fast, expressive formatting so you can structure docs the way you like:
Use a / command palette for headings, checklists, tables, code blocks, callouts, and more
Keyboard shortcuts for common actions
Cleaner reading experience for long technical docs

4) AutoDoc in your main navigation
AutoDoc is now front and centre in the Cosine navbar. Jump in from the dashboard, flip between Team and Project spaces, and find the doc you need in seconds.
5) Bring your own docs
Already have a wiki, onboarding packet, or architecture notes? Drop them into AutoDoc. Use them to seed Team Docs, complement Project Docs, or create a single place to send new joiners on day one.
The vision
Our goal with AutoDoc is simple: be a developer’s one-stop shop for documentation, from code-aware, always-current Project Docs to collaborative Team Docs. Write less boilerplate, lose less context, and help every teammate move faster with confidence.
This update builds on the same foundations you know:
End-to-end docs – overviews, module deep-dives, API references, examples
Continuous updates – documentation evolves with your commits; no stale READMEs
Deep code understanding – explanations that map how pieces fit together
Integrated with Cosine – documentation lives alongside your code and workflows
Those capabilities were the essence of the first release, and they’re all still here, now with better organisation and collaboration on top.
